My Shipping Cart Experience: Macbook Pro from US to the Philippines

This is the second part of my experience in buying a Macbook Pro from the US via B&H Photo and shipping it to the Philippines via Shipping Cart. The post provides a review of the Shipping Cart service, and describes the steps one will go through when Shipping Cart is used.

After B&H Photo has successfully shipped my 2016 Macbook Pro order, the waiting game for its arrival in Shipping Cart's office began. Aside from the thought of not being able to receive it before Christmas due to the delay in order verification, I was also concerned on the dimensions of the box used by B&H Photo because it will determine my item's shipping cost to the Philippines.

Finally, on December 7, 2016, I received a notification saying that Shipping Cart US Warehouse has accepted my item (received December 6). From my previous experience using Shipping Cart, I can expect the item to show up in my account in 2 to 5 days (it can really take several days for them to update your cart when the volume of orders they receive is high, just like during Black Friday and Christmas season).

Easy as 1-2-3: LTO Car Registration Renewal

It's February again, time to renew my car's LTO registration. Except for the last digit of the car plate that tells me the month when I should renew the LTO registration of my car, I always forget the week when I'm expected to renew it, so I did a quick check on the LTO website.

For quick reference, I lifted below guidelines from the LTO website (updated as of February 2, 2017).

2017 Asia Leaders Forum: Jose Mari L. Yupangco of Yamaha to Promote the Philippines

Whenever I hear the name "Yupangco", the first thing that comes to my mind is Yamaha musical instruments. It's nice to know that aside from promoting the Philippines as the premier business hub in Asia, they're also active in promoting real estate in the Philippines.

On June 1, 2017 from 10AM to 4PM, another Asia Leaders Forum in Real Estate will be launched in Davao, this time with the collaboration between Yupangco Electronics Corporation (Distributor of Yamaha Sound and Audio Technology) headed by Jose Mari L. Yupangco, the grandson of former President of the Philippines (Jose P. Laurel) and TAG Media and Public Relations headed by Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas (Entrepreneur, Broadcaster, Writer, Public Speaker).

Just last month, January 31, 2017 at Misono Japanese Restaurant in Makati, the first of its series for this year under Asia Leaders Forum has been launched with speakers that include Dr. Elton Tan of E-Hotels, Robert Laurel Yupangco of Zoomanity Group, Engr. Ben Co of BSC Construction, Mario Berta of Flyspaces, Congressman Prospero "Butch" Pichay of Surigao Del Sur, Koo Kwan Kon of Global Morning City Development, among others. Attended also by representatives from SMDC, ProFriends, DMCI, DibZ and Megaworld.

How to Force Google to Re-Index Your Blog Posts

As someone who's relatively new to blogging, after publishing a couple of posts, I was excited to check my blog stats to see whether people are reading, or at least searching, my posts. I also started to look for tips on how I can improve post "searchability", a topic called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). After applying some of the suggestions, I waited for a couple of days to see if it has an effect on my blog "searchability". Unfortunately, the stats were discouraging. I then tried to google my posts, to the point that I almost provided the complete URL. To my surprise, Google couldn't find my posts! In short, Google still hasn't crawled and indexed my blog posts. No wonder most of my visitors came from Facebook only.
So I then searched how long it takes Google to crawl and index / re-index blog posts. There were a lot of tips available on how to ask Google to crawl and index your blog, from submitting your blog's xml sitemap to using third-party tools. Some tips were useful and free, while some wanted to give information for a fee.

Crayola "Pick Your Pack" in Ogalala

An interesting discovery when we visited Ayala Malls The 30th last weekend is the Crayola "Pick Your Pack" stand in a store called Ogalala. It's like a crayon buffet where you get to choose 24 colors out of the 128 color options to fill up your Crayola box.

The 24-piece box costs 99.75 Pesos, not bad, so I let the wifey choose her desired colors, just like a kid in a candy shop. It was our first time to see the Metallic and Gel FX types, so it's imperative to get several pieces of those. :P

My 7 Travel Must-Haves

My recent trip to London taught me a lot on how I should prepare for future travels. Perhaps it's because it was my first time to experience below 5 °C weather,  a more sophisticated transportation system, and accessibility of great shopping deals.

I've summarized the lessons from that trip, as well as from my previous travels abroad, to come up with my 7 Travel Essentials. I'd say forget everything, except these must haves.

My B&H Photo Experience: Buying a Macbook Pro from the US

This is the first part of my experience in buying a Macbook Pro from the US via B&H Photo and shipping it to the Philippines via Shipping Cart. The post recounts what I had to go through in order for B&H Photo to successfully process my order.

The 2016 Macbook Pro is by far the most expensive item I purchased online. B&H Photo's Cyber Monday offer, coupled with BDO Visa's "The Great Online Shopping Rebate" promo, made the offer too good to resist.

While it was easy placing the order online, the order verification process gave me some anxious moments.
