Abrickadabra 2017: The Philippine Lego Fan Convention

Last May 27, 2017, I attended Abrickadabra 2017, a Lego fan convention organized by the Philippine Lego Users Group (PhLUG), held in Promenade Hall in Greenhills.

It showcased the awesome creations of several PhLUG members. The event also became a venue for buying, selling and trading Lego sets, minifigs, spare bricks, and other Lego-related stuff.

Aside from the builds displayed, the thing that surprised me was the obsession of some members towards the iconic plastic block, as evidenced by the number of pieces and minifigs used in the displays, as well as by the spare bricks being sold (I bet you can easily fill a bath tub with those spare bricks!). These guys definitely spent a lot! :P But hey, if it makes you happy, just do it, right? :) I, too, am surprised with my growing number of minifigs and Lego sets. Thanks to my 2-year old son for being interested in Lego this early, and my understanding wife. :D

I'm definitely looking forward to next year's Abrickadabra event. And who knows, we might be able showcase my son's creations too. :D

To the organizers of Abrickadabra, congratulations! You sure did an awesome job!
